Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech - Imi'oughelad - Tassa Ouirgane - Tiziane

After breakfast at your hotel in Marrakech, transfers take us to Ouirgane where we meet the mule team and the Guide, pack up and set off up the trail. With the spectacular valley below us we pass the remote village of Azerfsane. Lunch will be a picnic along the way and in the afternoon we will reach the Berber Village of Tiziane where we will be staying in a gite.

Day 2Tiziane - Azib Tamsoult

Today, fuelled and rested, we trek up along the river valley through Ait Aissa and Tizi Oussem villages. We may have our lunch by the river, then after a rest we trek up the valley to the Refuge Tamsoult 2400m. This is a magnificent area, terraced fields dominate the view and the high peaks provide a prominent backdrop. Tonight we will either camp or stay in the refuge.

Day 3Azib Tamsoult - Toubkal base camp

Be prepared for a tougher day today as we climb out of the valley from the refuge, to the Aguelzim Pass at 3650m, the panoramic vistas will reward your efforts. Lunch will be taken with spectacular views over the Atlas mountain range. We continue to reach the Toubkal refuge at 3600m where we can camp or stay in the refuge.
