For Trekking Atlas Mountains you need to prepare as you would for walking in any mountain region; it can be warm and sunny during the day but the weather in the mountains can quickly change from sunshine to snow and cold winds (autumn through late spring). Please do not leave any rubbish behind you; carry out what you carry in.
Atlas Treks are tailored to match the season and your level of fitness. You have the choice of basing yourself in Berber Guesthouses, from where you can take daily walks, or you can Atlas Mule Trek for 2+ days. On mule treks you usually have the choice of staying in Berber Guesthouse/with families or wild camping in 2-person tents. In addition to regular packing, here is a Check List for Atlas Trekking:
Upon your arrival at Casablanca International Airport, we will welcome you and then drive to Rabat, before leaving Casablanca we will visit the Hassan the second Mosque, the biggest mosque in Africa then we continue our way to join the city of Rabat. Overnight in Rabat.
After breakfast, we will depart to the beautiful town of Assilah via Moulay Bousselham. But before departure we will visit to Kasbah Oudaya and the Mausoleum where the kings are buried and then we hit the road via Kenitra to join to the town of Moulay Bousselham with its beautiful lagoon and Merja Zerka Lake. After lunch we hit the road to join the town of Assilah. Upon your arrival to Assilah, you will have free time to walk around its small Medina and enjoy its old harbor. Overnight in Assilah.
After breakfast a journey will take us to the beautiful town of Chefchaouen, the Rif mountains stronghold and the most beautiful town in Morocco. Along the way you will enjoy some of the most beautiful landscape of the northern Morocco via the city of Tanger where we will visit the beautiful beach of Achakar and the famous Hercules Cave, then continue via the Rif mountains to the beautiful city of Tetouan. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
A visit to this beautiful town is a must, in order to discover the real beauty that this little town that hides inside the Rif Mountains has to offer such as Outta Hamam Square, it’s beautiful medina, Ras El Ma…!. Overnight in Chefchaouen.
Option Visit Waterfalls of Akchour .
After breakfast, we will depart to the famous city of Fez including a stop at the ancient roman ruins of Volubilis, one of the most remote former territory of the Roman Empire. Lunch at the sacred and holly town of Moulay Idris Zerhoun. Then we continue our way via the green landscape of the central Morocco, and stop for a panoramic view at Sidi Chahed Lake. Overnight in Fes
After breakfast you will be joined by an official local guide, who will show you the city and its historical monuments “Fes El Bali the old medina”, “ Al Qraouine University” “Jewish Quarter”…etc. Fes is the fourth largest city in Morocco and also used to serve as one of its former capitals during the reign ship of the Idrissis. You will enjoy walking its narrow streets and its huge ancient gates. The Medina of Fes, Fes el Bali is believed to be the largest car-free urban area in the world as the people of the Medina use only mules or small motorcycles to get merchandise inside the medina. Overnight in Fes.
This journey will take us back to the biggest city of Morocco Casablanca including a visit to the historical city of Meknes, where you will visit the famous Lahdim Square and Qara Prison, Swani Basin… then we continue via the highway to Casablanca. Overnight in Casablanca.
After breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport according to you flight time.
