Take a break from the hectic city scene and restore yourself with a brief walking tour through “four valleys” of the Atlas range. A refreshing timeout from the crazy pace of travel, this three day journey takes you through the lush landscape of the Imlil, Imnane, Imsker and Azzden valleys.
It is a great opportunity to experience Berber culture and interact with the native population as we travel through local villages. This tour showcases the wide variety of scenery to be appreciated throughout the Atlas region.

For Trekking Atlas Mountains you need to prepare as you would for walking in any mountain region; it can be warm and sunny during the day but the weather in the mountains can quickly change from sunshine to snow and cold winds (autumn through late spring). Please do not leave any rubbish behind you; carry out what you carry in.
Atlas Treks are tailored to match the season and your level of fitness. You have the choice of basing yourself in Berber Guesthouses, from where you can take daily walks, or you can Atlas Mule Trek for 2+ days. On mule treks you usually have the choice of staying in Berber Guesthouse/with families or wild camping in 2-person tents. In addition to regular packing, here is a Check List for Atlas Trekking:
The first day of the Berber Village Experience Trek can be up to 6 hours long. The starting point is Imlil and you will start by heading toward the Imenan Valley, eventually arriving at Tizi N’tamater at 2300m, to have lunch, before you pick up the trail again to get to Tachdirt, where you can spend the night in a guest house.
Setting off in the morning from Tachdirt, you and your group will head to the red village at Imsker, passing many other settlements on your way through the Imenan Valley. The night will be spent in gites (a French term for houses owned by the locals) and the major portion of day should be about 5-6 hours trekking.
Approx 6 hours of trekking through the mountains will take you across the Imlil Valley and all the way up the Tizi N’Tacht (2100m) from where you will see the amazing Azzaden Valley. Here you will have lunch, followed by continuing your trek toward Tizi Oussem where you will spend the night in gites. Tizi Oussem also has hamam, a local variety of steam bath which you can use if you like.
On the last day, your trek will last around 5-6 hours. You will head toward Imlil via the largest most beautiful waterfall in the region, before meeting your supply mule in Tizi Mizzik at 2500m. After lunch, you will trek down to the Imlil where your journey will end, transfers back to Marrakech.
We completed 4 Days Three Berber valley trek. Thanks for a fantastic trip. Mr Houssain has a great team around him which helped us all the way. We were 5 persons from US and one from Norway. Trekking Toubkal picked us up at the airport, provided hotel, transport, food, – everything we needed.
I highly recommend this company if you want a company and people who’s always there for you.
